Love the new tiny home update! Even the pics are small! How are things going for you two? Did you like Cabo San Lucas enough to return? Pat and I are headed to Aruba end of February. Wish it were right now when the winter is especially hard to tolerate. (as the wind is has 50 mph gusts this morning!)

Hope the careers are on track and your enjoying life our West!

    Erin & Dondi,
The home is looking awesome, love those stair treads, the fact of how much you have included in your 29′ without it looking cramped or cluttered is inspiring, hope all is well and look forward to seeing all your work as it progresses, oh yah, are those solar panels producing enough power for you, or do you find you are running on the battery back-up frequently?

  8. Hi Mark, thanks for the kind words! We are really enjoying living in the tiny home. Its small but big enough for us! The solar panels are producing all the power we need. . . it runs off batteries at night and inverts the solar power during the day. Another perk of living in CO is there is sun here all winter. =) -Erin

I love what you have done with this… where did you find a convertible couch like that? Did Dondi design and build it? And where did you find the cushion/mattress? I need one of those!!! The only thing your house doesn’t have it a washer/dryer combo… 🙂

    • Hi Rebecca, thanks for your comments! Our house is entirely custom from start to finish. All of our kitchen, desk, couch, etc. were custom-designed and purpose-built for our needs. The couch design was a late night inspiration from a friend of ours in Saratoga Springs who also built a tiny house. Dondi helped upholster it recently and its now done (YAY!)- see: https://erinanddondi.wordpress.com/2013/08/25/durango-tiny-home-update-2/.

The cushions and upholstery fabric came from an online retailer (www.diyupholsterysupply.com/)- they cut and wrapped the foam to our dimensions and I really like how it all turned out. -Erin

Reblogged this on Tiny, Simply and commented:
Looking at these images of Soleil, I take comfort in the fact that Erin and Dondi’s house mirrors many of my own desires. Some small differences, too, but a splendid little house. Definitely check their blog out. They included a plan view of the house as well, which I’ll certainly look at as I consider my iterations to Robin’s Nest.
