Greensboro, NC to Asheville, NC
July 17, 2011
This morning we woke up, had breakfast, and took a walk around Aunt Vicky’s neighborhood in Greensboro.
Then, we drove West to the Blue Ridge Parkway (that runs from Virginia through the mountains to North Carolina) heading towards Asheville, NC with a few notable stops along the way.
Our first stop was at a LEED Gold certified rest stop and visitor's center; the main goal was to use the bathroom but Dondi was pretty fascinated with all of the ultra-sustainable practices and features of the building
After driving about 40 miles on the Blue Ridge parkway, we stopped at Linville Falls for a 2.5 mile hike

On our way to Asheville, we stopped for dinner at the Mountain View Inn in Little Switzerland, NC- not only did it have a cool name, the mountain view was amazing from the porch
