Our travels, exploits, and adventures

Lancaster, PA to Ocean City, MD

July 12th, 2011

Day 2- It’s Tuesday and the 2nd day of our adventure.  This morning we woke up, had breakfast, then went to Root’s- a legendary farmers market, livestock auction, knick-knack abundant Lancaster, PA institution that’s open only on Tuesday’s.  We considered ourselves lucky to be there on the right day.

Shopping at Root's Farmers Market (among other things)

We had lunch at Kim’s and played a few hands of cards before we headed off.

After that, we headed off to Ocean City, Maryland by way of the Del-Mar peninsula and checked in to our hotel.  Everyone talks about crabs in Maryland so we had to partake.  The nearest restaurant of choice was the CrabBag and the food was delicious.  Dondi even talked me into trying a few bites of his Jumbo Snow Crab legs. . . but as a vegetarian I’m sure I missed out on the deliciousness that others experience when eating fresh crab.

Maryland cuisine- crabs

Our evening ended with a walk on the beach where we saw lots of people fishing and a boy catch a baby shark (and release it of course).
